Six cookies. All first-party. Zero trackers.

A complete inventory of every cookie this site sets, what it does, and how long it sticks around. We don't use any third-party advertising, retargeting, or cross-site analytics cookies.

1. The full inventory

Name Purpose Duration Type
__reta_session Login session, tied to your account 30 days Essential
__reta_cart Cart contents — what you've added before checkout 14 days Essential
__reta_csrf CSRF token for form submission protection Session Essential
__reta_pref Site preferences (e.g., reduced-motion override) 180 days Functional
__reta_lab Last-viewed COA lookup, for quick re-access 30 days Functional
__reta_anon Anonymous session ID for Plausible analytics 30 minutes Analytics

The first three are required for the site to function — you can't shop without them. The last three are optional. You can disable functional and analytics cookies in your account settings or via the cookie banner that appears on your first visit.

2. No third-party trackers

We do not load any third-party advertising, retargeting, or cross-site analytics scripts. That includes:

  • No Meta Pixel / Facebook tracking;
  • No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Google Ads;
  • No TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Reddit, or Twitter pixels;
  • No data-broker pixels (Acxiom, Experian, etc.);
  • No "session-replay" or behavioral-tracking tools (FullStory, Hotjar, etc.);
  • No AI training trackers.

If you inspect this site in your browser's Network tab, you will see only requests to elementmd.com and our processors (Stripe, Plausible, Postmark, Sentry).

3. Why Plausible for analytics

We use Plausible rather than Google Analytics because it's:

  • Cookie-free for individual identification (uses a 30-min anonymous session ID);
  • GDPR / CCPA / PECR compliant by default;
  • EU-hosted (Germany), no data leaves the EU;
  • Open source and audited;
  • Doesn't share data with anyone, including Google.

The data we get is aggregate page-view counts and conversion funnels. We can't identify individuals from it; we don't try.

4. How to control cookies

Three ways to manage what we set:

  1. The banner on first visit — toggle functional and analytics off; essential cookies are required;
  2. Account settings — change your preferences any time at Account → Privacy;
  3. Browser settings — clear cookies for elementmd.com to fully reset.

Disabling functional cookies will sign you out of your account and clear your cart on each session. Disabling analytics cookies has no effect on your experience — we just won't know you came.

5. Do Not Track

We honor the DNT header. If your browser sends DNT: 1, we automatically disable all functional and analytics cookies for your session. Essential cookies still set, because the site can't function without them.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is also honored.
